Description:
This course is for practising teachers and trainers, adult education tutors and those intending to teach post-16. The course covers the initial unit of the full PGCE/Cert Ed. programme (Introduction to Teaching) and encompasses topics such as the role of the tutor, lesson planning, the role of ICT and ILT in teaching and learning theories.

Progression:
On successful completion of Unit 1 students can progress to the full programme at Ebbw Vale or the University of Wales, Newport.

Entry Requirements:
Expertise in the subject to be taught i.e. a recognised higher qualification and/or experience.

Flexible short programme delivery available - part time twilight/evening, weekends, summer schools.
