This course is designed for individuals that are already working in a relevant job. The course runs on a roll-on roll-off programme which allows individuals to join at any point during the year. The individual may have to attend knowledge sessions at Huntingdonshire Regional College with the majority of the course taking place in the work place with guidance and support from a college assessor.

Mandatory Units: * Working safely in an engineering environment * Developing yourself and working with others * Using and communicating technical information OPtional Units * Identifying and selecting engineering materials * Marking out for engineering activities * Fitting & using hand tools * Machining engineering materials * Producing sheet metal components and assemblies * Joining materials by welding * * Producing materails using Oxy-fuel gas cutting equipment * Wiring and testing electrical circuits *Building and testing electronic circuits * Using computer numerical controlled machines
How will you be assessed
An assessor will observe you in your work place, carrying out routine tasks and activities appropriate to your qualification. You will be requested to carry out discussions with your assessor and provide evidence of the work you do.
Additional information
You will need to supply an overall and protective foot wear for the workshop.
