Introduction - This programme has been designed to provide students with an integrated knowledge of photography and digital imaging skills, processes and competences which students can exploit or develop in a commercial or individual capacity. The programme places special emphasis on the use of new technology as an aid to photography with access to state of the art computers, scanners, digital cameras and printers. You should be eighteen or over and have an enthusiasm for design with either suitable knowledge or academic qualifications appropriate to progression to higher education. Mature applicants may have relevant experience taken into account in lieu of formal qualifications. Art and Design's policy is to interview all prospective students in order to discuss individual requirements.
What will be covered in the course? - There are ten modules in the programme. Six modules form the core of the programme: - Computer application in Art and Design - Historical and Contextual References - Professional Studies - Ideas Generation - Critical Studies - Ideas in Context Four specialist modules complete the programme: - Developing a Personal Style - Communicating with Images - Image Manipulation Applications - Working in the Digital Environment
