Course aims: This is an exciting course looking at an introduction to an equally exciting area of digital design practice. It is an entry level course aimed at professionals and non-professionals who would like to use Adobe Photoshop to get the best from the digital images they produce. Ideal for photographers, designers or art-workers you will not only learn how to use key tools within Photoshop and produce images of a high quality, but also add and manipulate text.
The aim of the course is to provide you with a solid introduction to the image manipulation software Adobe Photoshop. Being delivered through demonstration, as well as through a series of guided practical exercises using the package, you will be able to use digital images and learn to enhance their quality through colour management, manipulation, use the software as a remedial tool and learn about output options for web and print.
Course content: On this course you will learn about:
- introducing Photoshop
- basic colour management
- basic compositing
- basic remedial work
- making images ready for print/web
Facilities for students: Students will be based at our City College Main Campus where we have extensive and excellent facilities for practical and theory work. These include: state of the art Apple Macintosh & PCs running the latest industry level web design software, namely Adobe Photoshop and other digital media design related software.
Tutors: Tutors assigned to this course will have experience in teaching a range of digital media design software packages and many of them work in the digital media design industries.

Entry Requirements: You must be very comfortable using computer based operating system and be familiar with using a browser. You should have an awareness of using a digital camera.
