About this course

You will be selected to this programme through initial assessmant and interview. You will require a minimum of three GCSE's at Grade C or above including Mathematics and English, or willing to work towards this. You will aslo require a Level 2 plumbing certificates.

Is the course for me?
You will work towards the Advanced Apprenticeship in Plumbing through work-based learning with an employer in the plumbing industry.

What will I learn?
You will learn all the current knowledge requirement for : *NVQ Level 3 *A level 3 Technical Certificate in Plumbing Studies *Application of Number *Communication Level 2 where appropriate. Where necessary NVQ 2 on site assessment after Level 2 basic studies. You will study a range of modules including: Planning and Installation of complex domestic plumbing systems To include: Hot and Cold Water (to WRAS standards) Sanitation Gas (to ACS standards in preperation for 'Gas Safe' registartion) Unvented domestic hot water (to certificating standards) Energy Efficiency - Certificate Central Heating Wiring Improvement of products and services

How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed using multiple choice tests after each module, practical assessments in college and an end exam. On site assessment is also a requirement of Apprenticeship Framework. Some of the Certificates will be delivered under BPEC awarding body standards

What can I do after the course?
This certficate leads towards Level 3 in Plumbing. Further study will allow you to develop the necessary academic requirements for Higher Education and managerial qualifications. The programme allows for progression onto HNC/D in Building Services Engineering.
