Is this course right for me?

If you are looking enter the plumbing industry this eighteen-week, evening course is aimed at you. Throughout the course you will be taught the essential knowledge and skills required to gain the Level 1 Certificate in Plumbing.

What will I be learning?

This course is aimed at people who would like to acquire basic plumbing skills or for those who require the background knowledge to progress onto a Level 2 nationally recognised qualification.

Throughout the course you will be set practical assignments that will cover installing and testing pipe work systems and maintaining pipe systems components. The theoretical part of the course will focus on working safely in installation activities. This will cover health & safety, hot and cold water systems, heating and sanitation.

How will I learn?

Your theoretical knowledge will be assessed via multiple choice tests and your practical skills will be assessed in the workshop through tutor observation.

What else might I want to know?

You will need to provide your own protective clothing, footwear, textbooks and stationery.

What can I do afterwards?

On successful completion, you can progress on to the level 2 certificate in Plumbing (evening) or NVQ level 2 Plumbing (day-release) providing you are employed within the industry.
