Course Content:
C&Gs Level 2 NVQ in Mechanical Engineering Services Plumbing Units:
- Maintain the safe working environment when undertaking plumbing work activities
- Maintain effective plumbing working relationships
- Contribute to the improvement of the plumbing work environment
- Install non-complex plumbing systems and components
- De-commission non-complex plumbing systems
- Maintain non-complex plumbing systems and components
Key Skills:
- Application of Number Level 2
- Communication Level 2
City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Basic Plumbing Studies Units:
- Safety in plumbing activities
- Key plumbing principles
- Common plumbing processes Cold water systems
- Domestic hot water systems
- Sanitation systems
- Central heating systems (pipework only)
- Electrical supply and earth continuity
- Sheet lead weathering
- Environmental awareness in plumbing
- Effective working relationships in the plumbing industry
- Basic plumbing studies core underpinning knowledge (question paper)
- Basic plumbing studies practical tasks
Key Skills:
Students who have achieved Grade C or above in English and Maths in the last five years or equivalent will be exempt from Key Skills. Students who have achieved grades D G in the last three years will need to complete a Key Skills Portfolio.
