Who is this course for?
The construction Awards offered at, Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced levels. The course is unit based, involves in college theory lessons and examinations, practical lessons and assessments. The course provides vocationally related knowledge and skills which can improve employability within this vocation.
Successful completion of units or the full Award can contribute to the achievement of an NVQ when vocationally employed.
The National Vocational Qualification is unit based, involves in college theory assessments and at work practical assessments and evidence production. You MUST be vocationally employed and a portfolio of the specified evidence must also be completed. If necessary you will be required to attend lessons in college to acquire the knowledge and skills specified, which will include the related Technical Certificate qualification and safety tests.
You need to be physically fit, capable of working on site and at heights, and be a team worker. You will be using hand tools, equipment and machines, which require specialist operating knowledge. You MUST comply with all related Health and safety policies and procedures and accept responsibility for your own actions.
How long is this course for?
College attendance may vary depending on employment status timetable provision but may involve 1 to 2 days/week at college within the academic year and the full certificate may take more than one year to achieve.
