Professional Chefs Scholarship
Course Description
The course is offered as a partnership between the College and a range of major hospitality employers. It is open to people who want to concentrate on building kitchen and larder skills and experience whilst working in the industry in a kitchen environment. The programme concentrates on developing modern and classical techniques used in the industry. The course is delivered on a one week per month basis, for two years. Students undertake four hours of practical sessions and one hour of theory per day, as well as receiving tuition in key skills such as communication, ICT and food costing and control. There are also classes in Food Science, Hygiene, and Health and Safety.
For the rest of your time you will be employed in the kitchens of a leading establishment in the industry gaining valuable experience. The employer will pay for your college training (1500).
This highly innovative programme is endorsed by the Association Culinaire de France, City and Guilds and a range of 70 leading UK employers. It is the only course of its kind in the country.
