About this course

Course Entry Requirements
It would be an advantage to have achieved the NVQ2 in wall and floor tiling, but it is not a necessity. If you are in a position where you are employed as a hands on supervisor / foreman type operative, the chances are that you will have access to an abundance of evidence that is applicable to this award. A minimum requirement is that you must have at least three years experience within the construction industry within the disciplines that make up the unit listing below.
Course Content
There are eight stand alone units that make up the award. As with all NVQ awards you have to show competency in acheiving both the practical performance criteria (through a range of assessment methods), and is displaying the required underpinning knowledge to all units.
The unit titles are:
VR01 Conform to general workplace safety
VR209 Confirm work activities and resources for the work
VR210 Develop and maintain good working relationships
VR211 Confirm occupational methods of work
VR69 Lay sand and cement screeds
VR141 Prepare backgrounds for tiling
VR69 Tile wall and floor surfaces
VR69 Produce tiled, mosaic and stone floor finishes
