Course programme
Recreational pottery suitable for complete beginners or advanced students who wish to expand on some previous knowledge and learn new skills.
What modules are covered?Beginners learn basic pottery workshop skills which include:
Clay preparation
How to apply texture to a surface
Colour application
Handbuilding techniques (such as coiling, pinching, slabbing.
Creative use of plaster moulds.
How to use a potters wheel.
Students who already have some knowledge have the opportunity to work on their own themes, while using a variety of clays, coloured slips and glazes.under the supervision of an experienced tutor. The course provides opportunities for students of all ages who enjoy working together in a stimulating and friendly environment. Ceramic materials are available for you to use. Materials are included within the course fee.
