Programme/Course description
This course is the mandatory course for candidates who are wishing to work in the Security Guarding sector.

To complete this course you will be provided with a work book which you will work through with the course tutor. As part of the delivery of this course there will be quizzes, role play and video clips.

Programme/Course Structure - Security Guarding
The course comprises of Unit 1 and Unit 2, Roles and Responsibilities and Conflict Management. It covers the skills and knowledge needed in the following areas:-

• Customer Care and Social Skills
• Equality and Diversity
• Patrolling Methods and Techniques
• Operation of access and Control equipment

• Security and Emergency Systems
• Fire Procedures and Fire Fighting
• The Law in relation to Security Guarding

Unit 2

• Conflict Management

Assessment is by examination, one per unit

Programme/Course Entry requirements
All learners will need to complete an application and interview prior to enrolling.

A good understanding of English language both written and verbal is required. An interview will be conducted by the course tutor prior to enrolment. Proof of ID will be required for successful enrolment, a list of suitable ID will be provided when applicants are invited for an interview.

• This course is for people wishing to qualify as Door Supervisors in licensed premises and other areas of the Security Industry. There are jobs available in the UK Security Industry. In order to achieve a license and access the Industry you must first gain a National Qualification. Once qualified you must meet the strict SIA Licensing Criteria.
