Working in arboriculture, either the public or private sector, this course is designed to complement your training and experience and to provide evidence of your knowledge of arboriculture. This is a theory based qualification with one day a week at College, designed to fit around your work commitments. Covering a wide range of topics, it is a valuable qualification in its own right, but also an ideal stepping stone for those considering the foundation degree in Arboriculture. Formerly known as the RFS Technicians Certificate.

What qualifications will I need?
Four GCSEs grades A ' C. BTEC First Diploma or NVQ Level 2. Applications from mature students who may be considering a career change and do not have the formal entry requirements are also welcome.

What will I be learning about?
This Level 3 award is comprised of six units of study:
  • Plant function, growth and the soil environment
  • Woodland ecology and management
  • Tree condition
  • Management of trees in the environment
  • Business and organisational management
  • Trees and the law
