Is it right for me?
Turf maintenance equipment covers a wide range of machinery including aerators, scarifiers and slitters all of which need skilful operators, both for pedestrian controlled machines and tractor mounted equipment. This qualification is designed to assess the professional operator. It demonstrates operator competence to employers, particularly within local authority and public utility company work.

What qualifications will I need?
Minimum age 16 years. Tetanus protection is recommended.

What will I be learning about?

• Pre'start safety
• Pedestrian controlled or tractor mounted operations
• Legal and safety requirements
• Fuel storage and transportation
• Safe lifting and handling
• Identification of hazards
• Appropriate documentation

What is involved?
One day training and one 2 hour assessment.

What materials are required?
Overalls, safety boots and waterproofs. Notepad and pen.
PLEASE NOTE: All students must bring 2 passport size photographs on the first day of their course.
