Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Level 2 NVQ
This level 2 Certificate covers the technical needs for todays motor vehicle repair industry, including the diagnosis of non-complex system faults. It provides essential knowledge for working on light vehicles (cars and vans) in all types of garages, dealerships and maintenance depots.

Course Content:
This learning programme involves students studying both the theory and practical aspects of the following:

  • Chassis Technology
  • Engine Technology
  • Transmission Technology
  • Electrical
  • & Electronic Technology General aspects e.g. Legal and organisational requirements Students also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in a garage.

    Awarding body:
    The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).

    Entry Requirements:
    Applicants must have a good standard of literacy and numeracy. Acceptance onto the course is subject to a successful interview with the course tutor.

    Entry Process:
    Applicants will be invited to attend an interview with the course tutor.
