Fee Information: The College charges a range of fees, primarily Home and Overseas. Under 19s assessed as Home, do not pay the course fees, we only charge a 20 enrolment fee which is refunded if you complete the course. Home students over 19 undertaking their First Full Level 2 (equivalent to 5 GCSE A-C) or their First Full Level 3 (equivalent to BTEC National or 2 ALevels) will be charged 20 enrolment fee plus any examination fees. For Home students over 19 receiving certain state benefits, the 20 enrolment is charged and not refundable. In all other instances, you will be charged the Home-EU or Overseas Fee.

About the course:
You will become skilled in the art of Wall and Floor Ceramic Tiling.
Gain valuable practical experience in a variety of tiling techniques and also learn the technical background needed for a successful career in the trade.
Activities include: Workplace Safety, Scaffolding, Floor Screeding and Tiling, Work Surface Preparation, Decorative Patterns including Curved Work and Grouting. Students who are sponsored by an employer can gain an NVQ if they are able to give sufficient proof of their skills.
Underpinning the above you will be assigned a Course Tutor to guide and assist you throughout your course.

Assessment:
Your course will generally be assessed by observations of your practical work conducted by a qualified Assessor, who may also be your Course Tutor.

The job knowledge will be assessed by short question papers which take place throughout your programme of study. There may also be an external general paper which is usually multiple choice.

Your tutor will prepare and support you for all your assessments and the type of assessment you undertake may vary slightly depending on your programme.

After the course:
The aim is to offer ACA (Advanced Construction Award) or NVQ Level 3 in Wall & Floor Tiling at the college for 2008/09. This is currently being explored.
