Course programme



The course also includes a live project called the AMP Awards in which you run and set up the business and music side of the competition against other schools and colleges in Yorkshire.


The course will be supported by visiting speakers from local businesses, visits to local workplaces, work experience activities and business and music AMP Awards mentors.




The course will enable you to develop skills that are essential for the modern-day workplace and is made up of four elements which are as follows:


NVQ Level 2 Business Administration:


This segment of the course allows you to understand document production, office equipment, reception duties, in going and outgoing mail and many other essential duties for the workplace. This qualification is required by around 90% of administration posotions in the industry


Employability skills:


This segment of the course will cover units such as the interview process, coping with your first day at work, managing your time, working in teams and many others to boost your employability skills.


Work Experience:


This segment of the course allows you to work in a real working office situated in the college, where you will use skills that will be essential to working life after the course in an office environment. There may also be the opportunity to carry out other work based tasks linked to the employability units throughout the course.


Functional Skills/GCSE’s:


The appropriate level to reinforce skills in English, Maths and IT. This is essential to the modern work environment and qualified lecturers will help and support you through the process. Those with grade D at GCSE will re sit these in order to comply with the workplace and government demands.
