This course is ideal for those who want to learn to upgrade or build their own PC. It also provides a solid foundation if you are looking to become a Junior Computer Technician.
Course Content:
Throughout this course students will develop essential hands-on skills and knowledge of PC maintenance and networking including:
Health and Safety procedures
Managing files, virus checking and making back-up copies of data
Connecting and dismantling a PC and associated equipment
Install and configure hardware/equipment
Test installed hardware/equipment
Installing and removing computer software
Prepare, carry out and document installation
and upgrade of operating systems
Configure and test installed operating systems
Maintaining computer systems
Identify network concepts and terminology
Identify components that make up computer networks
Install, configure and test computer networks
Use and control local area networks
Progression:
Successful candidates can progress onto our IT Essentials (A+) (Advanced PC Maintenance) course, which leads to professional technician status.
