PC Passport: Beginner - National Progression Award (NPA)

Description:
PC Passport is ideal for anyone wishing to develop or improve their IT skills. This course suits anyone from complete beginners for home use, to those intending to progress to full-time college course or seek employment in the IT industry. The course design is for the individual to achieve three separate PC passport units over the college academic year, 1 unit per 12 week session, and on the completion of all three units, achieve the NPA (National Progression Award) PC Passport: Beginner SCQF level 4. The units involved in the NPA are listed in the table below:

· Introduction to the Internet and On-line Communications
· Introduction to IT Software and Presenting Information
· Introduction to IT Systems

National Progression Awards are designed to assess a defined set of skills and knowledge in specialist vocational areas. They are mainly used by colleges for short programmes of study. NPAs are linked to National Occupational Standards.
