About this course

This course bundle is an ideal combination for those who want to learn more about computers and the various components within them and also gain both the Open Awards - Level 3 Certification and the industry specific A+ Certification qualification.

The PC Technology - Level 3 Online course is is ideal for students who know how to use computers but want to take that next step and learn more about the different components that make up a PC and maybe take their first steps into a career as a PC Technician. The course aims to give the student a good understanding of PC Hardware, the Windows Operating System as well as guidance on maintenance, networking and security issues.

There are no particular entry requirements for the home study courses but we advise that all students have a good general knowledge of using PCs, the Windows operating system and Windows-based software.

On completion of the A+ course, you can apply for the Internationally-Recognised CompTIA A+ 220-1001 and 220-1002 Examinations.

Assessment:

The PC Technology Course is assessed through coursework which is detailed in the course materials. The A+ Certification assessment is through the A+ Certification 220-1001 and 220-1002 Examinations. Each examination is 90 minutes in length and has a maximum of 90 questions. The questions are set in a multiple choice (single and multiple response), drag and drop and performance-based format.
