During the intensive three-year course you will develop technical, artistic and creative skills to prepare you for your dance performance career. This will be combined with the dedicated teacher training programme to ensure longevity in your chosen profession.
The first year provides a solid foundation in all aspects of dance quality, musicality and breath control. This lays the groundwork for more intensive study to follow in years two and three. The first years primary aim is to help the student to understand and improve posture, weight distribution, muscle control and limb extension. Understanding these basics of self- and spatial-awareness helps to develop the confidence necessary to achieve your very best.
Lessons in all dance genres broadens the knowledge of technical dance vocabulary and students must be able to demonstrate precise movements of each dance style, and how to achieve correct lines.
The dance performance and teacher training programme is divided into three main areas of study; dance, musical theatre and teaching. The course offers a wide variety of subjects including:

Other modules of study include audition practice work, drama improvisation, body toning, stretching and Pilates. Additional studies may be taken in music and A-Level dance.
In order to graduate students must achieve:
Two ISTD Advanced II in chosen dance genres
and/or
Two ISTD CDE in chosen dance genres
