Delivered across Park Lane Campus and a variety of city centre theatres and professional rehearsal spaces, this is a performance course for those who have a real interest in being a performer, facilitator, theatre practitioner, youth arts leader and/or teacher.
The course will develop acting techniques and directing skills.
Theoretical modules will look at job roles available within the creative industries, the key historical developments of performance and a research project of your choice.
You will also benefit from working with some of our many industry partners and gain real hands-on experience of leading workshops, creating educational theatre work, interdisciplinary practice and performance projects.

Course programme

During this course the following subjects will be covered; Acting Techniques Working in the Creative Industries The Rehearsal Room Performance in Context Workshop Facilitation Interdisciplinary Project Theatre Directing Independent Research Project Public Performance Across both levels there is an emphasis on learning through practice. Lecture programmes will support the more theoretical units, as well as group work and independent research. Tutorial support will be provided and on-line resources will be used throughout the course. You will also benefit from working with some of our many industry partners and gain real hands-on experience of leading workshops, creating educational theatre work, interdisciplinary practice and performance projects. This course is delivered at the Park Lane Campus. A GCSE grade C in English, or equivalent, is also required. However, candidates receiving this offer will have experience in this subject.
