Course programme
MA in Performance Research
Mode: part-time
The programme offers opportunities to further interest in a range of critical, conceptual and practical issues surrounding performance. The Department of Drama is currently rated as one of the leading departments in the country for research and houses one of the UK's foremost archives for theatre-related materials (the Theatre Collection, which recently added the Live Art Archive to its already substantial holdings). The programme covers historical and contemporary contexts of production, circulation and reception of performance texts, as well as a broad range of key practitioners and practices, authors and theorists. A range of options allows you to pursue pathways of study appropriate to your interests and prior experience. A distinctive feature of this MA allows you opportunities to work across media, and culminates in a dissertation, which may contain elements of practice.
