The College runs a wide range of theatre visits and other performances throughout the year. The department has regular visits from professional actors, singers and performers.

Performance Studies is a practical-based subject that also examines the theories and contexts of Drama, Dance and Music.
Course details
You will study two units in each year. In AS you will devise work in Drama, Dance and Music and also study the theories of different performance practitioners. In A2 you will look at performance topics, and do two further performances.
How is it assessed?
At AS, the course is 70% written and practical coursework, internally assessed, and 30% written examination, externally assessed. At A2, the course is 30% written examination, externally assessed, and 70% performance work, externally assessed.
Course duration
One year at AS level. One year at A2 level.
What do I need to study this subject?
You should have five GCSEs grade A*-C, including Drama or another expressive arts subject, together with an interest in theatre and performance.
Where can this lead me?
You may progress to university to study drama or humanities at degree level, or to drama school for professional acting courses or a degree.
