What will I study?

Do I need any additional qualifications/ skills?
This course will also encourage you to explore your own creativity and help you be a strong and effective member of a team. A key element of this course is for students to practice self discipline, self confidence and concentration.
How will I be assessed?
The First Certificate is made up of three units. You will be assessed on your practical work and on your ability to reflect on your own progress. You will also be assessed on your research work and your effective contribution to both solo and group projects. It is equivalent to 2 GCSEs
What can I do afterwards?
This course is designed for students aiming to progress to advanced Level 3 courses such as the Performing Arts BTEC National Awards and to provide excellent training for vocational progression in performing arts and other related industries. Retakes in GCSE maths and English as part of the Level 2 programme and are advisable if the student wishes to progress on to Higher Education.
Are there any additional costs involved?
You will be expected to provide £15 at the start of the academic year towards necessary textbooks, workshops and theatre visits. There will also be extra potential costs for optional events and excursions that compliment the curriculum.
