Course Overview
BTEC Firsts in Performing Arts are for young people who wish to prepare for a career in dance,drama, stage management, or arts administration. They develop the professional and personal skills needed for a range of careers either in, or related to performing arts.

Course Structure
This is a one-year foundation course across the three disciplines of theatre, dance and music. It will involve four days- work and classes at college per week plus the possibility of extra rehearsals which you will be expected to attend.

Qualification Aims
BTEC First Diploma in Performing Arts

Assessments/Examinations
Continuous assessment over a range of practical and theoretical assignments. All contribute towards an assessed end of year project.

Cost / Equipment
Students over 19 may be required to pay tuition fees.

Registration for students aged 19 or over at the start of the course will be approximately£90.

Costs of performance tickets, own costume or food, and travel costs to theatres etc. There may also be an optional extended residential theatre trip.

(Students may wish to have their own equipment for dance and stage make-up, but this is not essential. Set construction and lighting costs are met by the College).

Help with essential equipment costs may be available to students who experience financial difficulties.
