Why should I come to Pendleton College?

The department has gained a reputation as an exciting place to study. The Ben Kingsley Theatre is possibly the best-equipped college theatre in the area. This year we are offering several challenging, varied and enjoyable new courses to take you to the next step toward achieving your dreams.

What will I study?
This is a two year course which is the equivalent of three A-Levels, this Diploma really prepares you for either university or drama school and a career in the entertainment industry. Units studied will include:

What will I achieve?
The equivalent of three A-Levels in performing Arts with the opportunity to apply for university or drama school. A good grounding in performance skills plus the inevitable growth in personal confidence and communication skills necessary for any career.

How is the course assessed?
Students study 18 units over the two years that are continually-assessed and moderated. The course is predominantly practical but you will be expected to present evidence of your course work that may be in the form of a log, video or sound recording. 3 of the units are externally-assessed including the final major project that is a double unit and the culmination of your skills development.

What else will I do?
You will be able to develop your special interest skills in acting, music or dance, visit the theatre, take part in productions in the Ben Kingsley Theatre and on tour and be very active in a whole range of performance enrichment activities. You will be part of the Pendleton Theatre Company, a very exciting team!
