About this course

To study for the BTEC National Award you need to have 5 Grade Cs or above at GCSE. And preferably a Grade B in Drama (if taken) at GCSE, or drama experience. The BTEC National Certifcate requires 5 Grade Cs or above at GCSE and a Grade B in Drama at GCSE

Both the Award and Certifcate can lead to higher education courses and diplomas in performing arts and related felds and are good preparation for a variety of degrees. They can also lead directly into careers in the performing arts industry.

Other information

Theatre visits both locally and to London are an important part of the course and will incur some additional costs. At times students will be called for rehearsals outside timetabled lessons. Students are able to take this course alongside AS courses in Music and Music Technology and the BTEC First Award in Dance
