The BTEC Level 1 in Performing Arts is a one year course, designed to give you an introduction to the Creative Arts Industry and to help you discover your talents, interests and strengths in a range of disciplines.
It will allow you to develop practical skills and performance ability in different Performing Arts subjects, alongside studying other aspects of the Theatre industry.

On this course you will develop your practical acting and movement ability, taking part in a range of workshops and classes. You will study units in:
Preparing and presenting performing arts work
Acting skills
Dance skills
Working in the Creative Arts industry
Theatre Design
You will be involved in two performance pieces during the year, developing your performance skills and giving you experience of working in a performance environment. Students will work on exciting and creative projects, giving them the opportunity to develop the practical, personal and social skills necessary for the world of work in the creative arts sector. These include practical Performing Arts skills, knowledge and understanding of working in the Theatre Industry and Teamwork and confidence. Park Lane Campus Theatre Large Drama studio Two Dance studios On completion of your course you will have improved your performance skills and have gained some understanding of the Creative Arts industry. You will also have developed your self-confidence, presentation skills and team-working potential, preparing you for progression onto Level 2 in Performing Arts, or further study at Level 2 in another subject specialism.
