Why is it that so many actors, both professional and amateur, fear Shakespeare? Is it a lack of confidence, or of comprehension, fear of the metre and complex imagery, or their own vocal shortcomings?
The purpose of this class is to lift the veil on speaking and performing Shakespeare. To demystify the text, allowing students to comprehend the structure and rhythm; revealing the beauty and universal truths, embedded within the muscular energy of Shakespeare's works.
Banish your fear and discover for yourself; through text analysis, observation of punctuation, the simplicity of allowing the rhyme to run, understanding each thought has it own pulse and energy; the rich and complex world of William Shakespeare.
