It is desirable that you also have an A level in mathematics or a related subject at grade C or above, and/or significant related, education based work experience.You may be asked to complete the primary mathematics subject knowledge enhancement course to ensure your understanding of mathematics in the primary curriculum is completely secure before you start the course.A commitment to becoming the best teacher you can be, with a minimum of 10 days experience in a UK primary school. If you cannot spend the full 10 days in a primary school prior to application we can still consider your application as long as you have spent 5 days in a primary classroom. If you are successful in being offered a place on the course the additional 5 days would be a condition of your offer and would need to be undertaken prior to starting on the course. Course programme

All PGCE pathways cover three main areas: Curriculum Studies, Professional Studies and Enhanced Studies. However all learning on the programme is designed to complement professional practice and the academic study should be informed by and inform practice. PGCE students will be placed in two schools for a mixture of blocked time and serial (e.g. one day a week) time adding up to meet the current Government requirement for a minimum of 120 days in school. We also offer PGCE Primary and PGCE Primary with Languages.
