Course Description
This course is intended for any suitably qualified person aspiring to a position as a Pharmacy Technician within the Health Service or retail trade. Work shadowing is an integral part of the course and enhances the career prospects of students. The specialist subjects are taught by a qualified Pharmacist. Successful students will gain the NQ in Pharmaceutical Science award.

Preferred Entry Requirements
4 Standard Grades (grade 3 or above) OR 4 Intermediate 2 awards to include Maths and English plus 2 from Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Human Biology and General Science OR an appropriate range of SQA NC modules or NQ units. Entry by informal interview.

Chemistry, Human Physiology, Microbiology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Work Shadowing, Computer Applications.

Progression
Employment in hospital pharmacies and chemist shops or possible entry to HNC Applied Science or the University of West Scotland Certificate in Higher Education.
