Philosophy addresses the fundamentals of identity and knowledge, and will suit students interested in looking beneath the surface of commonly held assumptions, and developing their powers of reason and argument. Philosophy asks questions such as. Does what you see match the world as it really is? How do you know what you know? How does the mind interact with the body?

How is it assessed?
There are two 1.5 hour exams at AS level and at A2 a 1.5 hour exam and a 2 hour exam.

What do I need to study this subject?
You should have five GCSE grades A*-C or the equivalent at one sitting, including grade B in English Language and grade C in Maths. BTEC First, if used as part of the equivalent, must be at Distinction.
