Photography digital-beginners
Your Course
This course is designed for those who have little or no knowledge of digital photography or digital cameras. Areas covered will include features of the digital camera, good camera technique and how to carry out basic manipulation of digital images. Also covered will be the use of a scanner and printing your images.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course students will have had the opportunity
· To handle a digital camera.
· Learn how digital cameras operate.
· Understand composition, lighting and good camera technique.
· Use image manipulation software.
· Use a scanner.
· Save and store their own digital images.
This course can lead into progression of any of the following courses: Digital Photography - The Next Step Photography Advanced Adobe Photoshop
Your Tutor
Vaughan Allanson is a professional photographer and graphic artist. He has worked in computing for many years, is a qualified IT trainer, and has demonstrated digital imaging techniques at national computer exhibitions. He is currently a partner in a successful photography and design studio.
Materials
Participants are expected to bring their own cameras (which must have a compact flash memory card for compatibility with College equipment), although a small number of digital cameras are available for use in the class. Students also need to provide printing paper for quality final prints.
Day and time: Tuesday 7-9pm
Start date: 19 Jan

Tuition fees: £90
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.

Please note that there are no classes during half term Monday 15th - Friday 19th February 2010 unless otherwise stated.
