This course follows on from the Introduction to Digital Photography course and has been designed for people who want to take the next step with their digital camera as a creative tool and also to improve their Adobe Photoshop techniques. You will be given the opportunity to work on your own assignments with weekly creative feedback from your tutor. Students must have their own digital camera.

Your Course
This course follows on from the Introduction to Digital Photography course and has been designed for people who want to take the next step with their digital camera as a creative tool and also to improve their Adobe Photoshop techniques. You will be given the opportunity to work on your own assignments with weekly creative feedback from your tutor. Students must have their own digital camera and a good knowledge of a PC. Although you will be supplied with some tutor notes you should also bring along a notepad and pen to take notes.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course you will be given the opportunity to explore the following:
· With your camera: fully understand your camera settings, improve composition, image quality and variety of pictures taken, studio lighting and posing
· Introduction to reportage photography
· Adobe Photoshop
· How to create realistic image montages
· Portrait retouching techniques
· Effective use of layers and mask
This course can lead into progression of any of the following courses: Photography Advanced Adobe Photoshop
Your Tutor
Charlie Martinez is a professional photographer and film-maker and has taught at undergraduate level in London and Cambridge. He has travelled extensively programme making and documenting in Africa, Japan and the US.
Day and time: Wednesday 7-9pm

Tuition fees: £90
Method of payment: Fees for short courses (10 weeks or less) to be paid in full at enrolment and for long courses (12 weeks or more) fees of 50% can be paid at enrolment plus 50% as a cheque. Course places cannot be reserved without receipt of both payments.
