About the Course
The course covers basic photographic techniques:
• You will learn to use an SLR camera and produce a series of prints on a theme of your choosing.
• You will learn to print black and white photographs and more advanced photographic techniques.
• You will research your own ideas, develop your own films and present a series of high-quality prints.
Three hours a week are spent with a tutor, using the studio and darkroom facilities. There will be a materials and equipment charge of £65 for the course.

The assessment consists of the following:
Two coursework assignments - 60%,
One externally set assignment - 40%.
Fees
No Course Fees for Under 19's. Over 19's must pay, or claim Level 2 or Level 3 Entitlement for FREE courses .
What next?
Photography is a relevant addition to courses in
Design, Art, Media Studies, and Graphics. If you wish to apply for Art and Design Foundation courses you will find photography valuable in building up a portfolio, and as a part of visual research. Employers are often interested to see darkroom skills on your CV.
