Course Overview
This course is a part-time evening course designed for students who wish to broaden their knowledge of photographic techniques and who have already successfully complete the Digital Photography Course (A2095).

Course Structure
The course consists of 2 four-week sessions with one wweek break in between.

Part One: Studio Techniques
  • Setting up a studio and understanding studio equipment.
  • How to take better portraits using composition techniques.
  • Studio lighting techniques for digital cameras.
  • Studio practice.
  • Photo manipulation and special effects in the Digital Darkroom.
  • Presentation of work.

Part Two: Landscape Techniques
  • Better composition for rural and urban landscape photography.
  • Setting up to shoot landscape and reading histograms.
  • Two local field trips to put theory into practice.
  • Photo manipulation and special effects in the Digital Darkroom.
  • Presentation of work.


Qualification Aims
College Certificate of Achievement. The skills you develop may count towards enabling you to study photography at level 2 or 3.

Assessments/Examinations
There is no final assessment or examination. Assessment is based on portfolio work assembled during the course.

Course cost:£175 (no concessions)
You will need to supply a memory stick or removable USB storage media of at least 1GB.
