About this course
The general entry requirements for studying at Advanced level apply, and must include a minimum of grade C in Science (single award) GCSE.
Other information
For the Coursework Practical activities, there are many sports to choose from and be assessed in, they do not have to be solely in activities we can offer on here.
BHASVIC has a history steeped in sporting success, studying with us will allow you to use our new facilities, work with dedicated staff members and if you choose you can become a real team player in many of our team sports.
Many of our students have gained county or national honours and we award our own sporting colours to those students that have excelled during the year.
We also provide weekly enrichment classes that include trampolining, street dance, table tennis and badminton to name but a few. These activities are open to all the students within the college and we encourage all levels of fitness and ability to take part.

Course programme
Is this subject right for me?
Do you have a wide-ranging interest in sport that you want to develop further? Are you prepared to be assessed in your practical performance, along with how you would improve another competitor†s performance as well as through written examination in three different areas?
Studying PE at AS Level can be a useful 'stepping stone' towards a career in the Leisure Industry, Teaching, Physiotherapy, Coaching and Sports Medicine, to name but a few.
The style of teaching for this syllabus is varied, although emphasis is based on practical activities in some of the key areas. We use our own sports facilities, including our sports hall, and fitness suite as well as those in the local area, for example, Withdean Stadium.
