Fact file Length 1 year part-time (one day per week) Starts January Entry requirements You should have English Language GCSE at grade C or above (or equivalent) and an A Level of equivalent in the specialist pathway and/or a minimum of 6 months’ experience of teaching or supporting learners in an educational setting within the specialist pathway. You should also have a Foundation degree in Physical Education and Physical Activity or a related subject.You will be required to have a recent satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. If you don’t already have this you can apply for one through your organisation.If you don’t meet the normal academic entry requirements, but have the appropriate work experience, you may be offered an opportunity to join the course. In this case you will be required to take and pass the Orientation module.If you have less than six months (or equivalent experience) of working with children or young people, an interview may be offered where the following will be assessed:A formal and informal learning history to determine previous experience and suitability for the course A motivation to succeed A realistic expectation and understanding of the work involved in undertaking the course in terms of time and study.
