Course programme
Door Supervisors coming into the security industry after August 2010 will have to attain the level 2 qualification in physical intervention to gain an SIA licence. This Physical Intervention course is available as the new add-on qualification to Door Supervision, bringing existing Door Supervisors up to the same level as newly licensed staff.
The key areas the course will cover are as follows:
Disengagement Skills
We will look at how our staff can help to reduce the risk of assault through non-physical measures, and be able to avoid different forms of assault by adopting correct positioning, and their manner of approach. We will look at how they can disengage from the most common types of assault they are likely to come across in their roles as Door Supervisors.
Holding
Due to the nature of the job for Door Supervisors, they may have to legitamately use force, to take hold of or physically escort a person off the premises. We will teach staff the holds used to protect then and also to avoid discomfort and pain to the individual.
