About this course

Five GCSEs at grade C or above, including a minimum of BB in Double Science, B in Additional Science or a B in Physics. It is strongly recommended that you also have a B in Maths.

The Programme
The approach to Physics is to learn through either examining applications such as music recording, technology in space and spare part surgery or themes such as the use of Physics in Archaeology.
The Programme Content
Both AS and A2 Level consist of two theoretical units and one practical unit. In the first year students learn about the physics of Sport & Movement, Sound & Waves, Electricity and Testing Materials. In the second year, topics include Radioactivity & Atomic Physics, Earthquakes & Vibrating Buildings and the Origins of the Universe.
Progression / Careers
If you are considering going to university, then Physics is essential for any Engineering course. There is a wide variety of courses in which Physics is desirable and a range of courses from Theoretical Physics to Experimental Physics with many combined degrees such as Physics and Finance.
