About this course
If you've taken Core Science, you must have passed Core, and either Additional Science or Physics.
If you've taken single subject Sciences, you must have passed Physics.
If you have taken GCSE Science double award, you must have a double pass.
You must have a passes in both Maths (B) and an English subject.
Passes in Applied Science and BTEC First Diploma in Science do not count as valid qualifications for this course.

What will I study
AS: Particles, quantum phenomena and electricity; mechanics, materials and waves. There are some new topics and those that were studied at GCSE are taken a bit further.
A2: Fields and further mechanics; one optional topic chosen from astrophysics, medical physics, turning points in physics and applied physics in conjunction with nuclear and thermal physics. The A2 course brings in some higher-level mathematics but this is covered during the course.
Practical skills are assessed internally each year and involve simple practical tasks as well as a longer one with a written component.
