2. Course description If you've ever wondered about the 'Big Bang' and how we know all about it, or you're regularly taking things apart to find out how they work, then this Physics A-Level is perfect for you. It's about everything in the world, from the tiniest particle to the biggest thing you can imagine (and then some!). You'll learn all about particles, atoms and radiation, alongside the fundamental laws of the universe, as you explore how and why things happen. From nuclear physics around the world to real experiments in the lab, you'll look at electric circuits and waves in the atmosphere, learning how to solve problems about forces on moving objects and the behaviour of certain materials. With further mechanics & thermal physics, you'll also study different fields of energy - including magnetic, electrical and gravitational. And in your final year of study, you'll specialise in an area that really excites you, with the option to choose from Astrophysics, Engineering, Medical, Turning Points and Electronics.
