Course Content
The course consists of:

  • introduction of the Pitman shorthand system
  • build-up of knowledge of outlines and short forms which comprise the system
  • speed building exercises to bring speed up to a level suitable for taking dictation.

Benefits
On completion of the course, candidates will have gained sufficient knowledge to allow them to take dictation at a speed of between 50-60 wpm. The opportunity of gaining a recognised certificate, i.e. OCR level 1 exam is available to all who complete the course.

What next
If desired, candidates can go on to undertake a speed development class to improve their shorthand skills and increase their dictation speed.

Attendance: Part Time Day
Attendance details:
20 weeks at 2 hours per week (40 hours in total) subject to holidays.
