Course programme
This Level 1 course will gives you the skills needed to progress to a higher level of training in plastering. The initial first five weeks of the course consists of an Introduction to the Plastering course, where you will gain a college certificate.
Subjects include:
- Know how to and prepare background surfaces and plaster materials
- now how to and apply plaster materials to internal backgrounds
- Know how to and produce components from moulds
- Know how to produce sand and cement screeds
- Know how to and carry out safe working practices in Construction
- Knowledge of and use of information, quantities and communication with others
- Knowledge of and use of building methods and Construction technology
- Functional Skills in English and Maths
English and maths are an essential part of your studies and will help you succeed on your course. These subjects will help you develop confidence and are the key employability skills that all employers now look for when recruiting. While on the programme you will be expected to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 or higher in English and maths or an improvement in your GCSE ‘D’ grade in these subjects.
