Who is this course for?
This course is designed to provide an introduction to the technology and practice of plastering. It represents a level 1 entry qualification. The course is for anyone joining or intending to join the construction industry.

What are the entry requirements?
You will be assessed on your English and Maths skills at interview. An interest in the construction industry is essential and employment within the industry at the time of application would be beneficial but not essential.
After applying you will have an interview to determine which course is suitable for your needs and abilities.

• Minimum Literacy Level: Entry 2

You can read and understand short pieces of writing such as letters, messages, simple stories, timetables and adverts. You can write short pieces of writing - for example an email to a friend, a simple letter, a story or a message.
• Minimum Numeracy Level: Entry 2

You can work with numbers, symbols, and simple diagrams. You can add and subtract simple numbers and use simple fractions. You can use money, tell the time, measure things and know about squares, triangles and rectangles.

City & Guilds 6101 Basic Plastering Skills

Where can it lead?
Plastering Level 2 NVQ or Intermediate Construction Award and improved job prospects.

What will I study?
Basic technical skills and practical competence in Plastering.

Practical work with associated underpinning knowledge.

On-going practical assessment, externally verified.
