Course Description:

This should be of interest to anyone who likes going to the theatre, but wishes to deepen their knowledge and understanding of drama. We will read and discuss significant European plays from Shakespeare to the present day, covering topics and themes of political, social and psychological interest. Biographical material and theatrical history will deepen the study. Theatre visits and videos will give illustrations of texts in performance.
