This course if for you if you are working in the Plumbing industry or if you are changing your job. This course can also be suitable for school leavers.

What are the entry requirements?
You will be assessed on your English and Maths skills at interview.
After applying you will have an interview to determine which course is suitable for your needs and abilities.

• Minimum Literacy Level: Entry 2

You can read and understand short pieces of writing such as letters, messages, simple stories, timetables and adverts. You can write short pieces of writing - for example an email to a friend, a simple letter, a story or a message.
• Minimum Numeracy Level: Entry 2

You can work with numbers, symbols, and simple diagrams. You can add and subtract simple numbers and use simple fractions. You can use money, tell the time, measure things and know about squares, triangles and rectangles.

What qualification will I receive?
City & Guilds 6129 Certificate in Basic Plumbing Level 2.

Where can it lead?
City & Guilds 6129 Certificate in Plumbing Level 3.

What will I study?
Subjects you will study include Health & Safety, Plumbing Principles & Processes, Hot & Cold water, Sanitation, Hot Water, Heating & Controls, Lead Weathering, Environmental Studies and Industrial Relations.

How will I be taught?
You will learn through a mix of practical and technical training.

How will I be assessed?
By phased dedicated theory tests and practical assessment within our assessment centre. You must be available to carry out an additional ten days of practical assessment in the college during the 2nd year of the course.

You will have access to a personal tutor to help you throughout the course. The College offers a comprehensive range of student services, including learning support, language support and guidance.
