You will learn the basic skills required to become a plumber. The course comprises of both practical and theory exercises that will give you relevant skills and knowledge so enabling you to work towards becoming a skilled tradesperson.
The programme is designed to provide the candidate with the practical skills and underpinning knowledge of plumbing and the plumbing industry. The programme is delivered in the training environment to meet current national standards. This qualification is delivered while learning the basic skills of plumbing.

- Members of a building team
- Bending processes
- Jointing various materials
- Above ground drainage
- Plumbing systems
- Sizing systems
- System layout
- Storage cisterns
- Compliance with Water Regulations
Assessment
The main course has no exam. Each unit has a number of assignments that must be completed, which are graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction. The overall grades from each unit are combined to give you a final grade which can be transferred into UCAS points.
Progression This course will prepare you for entry to employment in mechanical engineering services and further study on a part time basis.
