Large-sized band and cup-sized bras have an increasing share of the intimate apparel market. In the past larger-sized ladies had to ask: “what comes in my size?”, rather than “which bra do I like?” This is clearly a business opportunity for more sales! This course investigates technical bra design for the DD – GG cup-sized market. It will explain the different commercial body shapes that this garment has to fit and the mechanics of the pattern shapes. It will detail the different types of grading that are suitable for both wired and soft bra shapes for these sizes.

A variety of fitting techniques will be shown on a model and current commercial styles will be considered. Fabric and component choice for this will be explained.
